Climo for Bosch is an technologically advanced micro-climate monitoring system (MCMS) that connects compact wireless sensors over Wi-Fi and GSM networks enabling micro-climatic data collection. Powered by state-of-the-art IoT friendly Intel Quark, the technology facilitates energy-efficiency, scalability and sustainability. Day One was selected as their technology partner for custom software development services for building a dashboard (for internal purposes) to provide remote monitoring the microclimatic data measurements for key air pollutants and real time air quality index for any given location. This is the story of how we helped them in building the said platform.
Air pollution and climate change is real. And the former often affects the latter. In 2020, the pandemic followed by global slowdown/lockdown leading to reduced emission from automotives and manufacturing units, established this fact in its simplest form. The wellbeing of the environment is a matter that brands take seriously, and Climo was Bosch’s effort in that direction.
With Climo, the goal was to engage advanced technology to build a platform that would detect the air quality at locations around the world, and would keep people informed about the air quality so as to take required precautions. The initial plan was to build a software to support their hardware, so as to maintain the brand’s global initiatives towards environmental wellbeing.
They had their internal hardware present in selected smart cities and wanted to collaborate with Day One to build a web-based dashboard and Admin panel to monitor the air quality. Our capabilities in web app development services, IoT and AI made us the right fit for the project. This was towards the initial days of Day One’s journey and this would be a challenging experience
The Final Experience
This was a challenge for us to execute, especially in the timeline we had. AI and automation services relies heavily on the availability of data and technology. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of our team and client, we were able to build a platform that delights and delivers!
